Summary  

The project manager is responsible for leading the project on hand, managing its technical development, developing and implementing new strategies, collaborating with partners and users, and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiencies of the project and project team.  He/She must provide management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.  Working under the general guidance and direction of the Executive Director, the Project Manager performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, and professional work in the development and implementation of the project at hand.

Essential Functions 

  • Develop systems and processes necessary for the recruitment, tracking, planning and execution of projects.
  • Attend client meetings for ongoing and prospective projects.
  • Determine project requirements and assign team members. 
  • Oversee and maintain liaison between all parties concerned with the project to facilitate any changes or modifications and to facilitate resolutions of project problems.
  • Work directly and effectively with project team members.
  • Maintain close relationships and collaborate with partners and project team members.  Stay current on their projects and priorities.
  • Manage project budget.
  • Draft and implement policies and procedures as needed.
  • Review plans, suggestions, and changes and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Guide, and train selected project team members in the organization, execution, and service delivery of the final project.
  • Must collaborate with others and gain group consensus on team and project issues as appropriate.
  • Responsible for financial performance of project.
  • Ensure required project data and information is regularly entered into the project workbook and the project management and knowledge management systems.
  • Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project.
  • Must be able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to present and sell solutions and decisions both within the project team and to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate regular cross-functional project team meetings.
  • Reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets.
  • Preparation of reports to management, the Associations executives and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor schedules, issue logs and risk management plans and provide warnings of serious deviations or variations that may compromise project results.
  • Identify, establish and maintain business relationships.
  • Travel, as needed, to handle and take care of project issues and attend meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by project director.

Essential Job Qualifications  

The qualified person for this job will be an independent, self-starter who can work and carry out difficult, complex tasks with little or no supervision.  He/She must be able to supervise and lead a project, while carrying out various administrative tasks.  It is also very important that the personnel is both a leader and a team player.  All the above duties and any other additional duty assigned must be performed satisfactorily.  In the case of a handicap, company MUST and WILL make reasonable accommodations to perform the essential functions of the job. 


Education/Experience 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
  • 3 to 5 years of Project management, planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate to all project members.
  • Proven analytical skills and project management skills within the area of the project at hand.
  • Team player who works well with others.
  • Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence in decisions made.
  • Good commercial and financial awareness.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of people.
  • Knowledge of sales and customer care disciplines. 
  • High levels of presentation and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, including proofreading and copy-writing skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate successfully.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly, under pressure and to deadlines without prompting.
  • Ability to evaluate, audit, and inspect.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, keep records, and prepare work reports.
  • Efficient in the use of personal computers, including word processing software.
  • Ability to use various office equipment and machines such as calculator, phone, copy, and fax machine.

  • Work normally performed in office settings with occasional outdoor work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination necessary in order to operate computers and various office equipments.  
  • Occasionally required to stand or walk. 
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Normal ability to see and hear.
  • Normal sense of touch.
  • Normal physical agility. 
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or reach for objects.
  • Ability of lifting and moving packages weighing up to 15 pounds.
