Summary
Under limited direction, the Controller recommends,
implements, and controls accounting policies and procedures, and coordinates and
operates accounting, taxation, data control, and accounts payable for the
Company. He/She prepares
consolidated financial statements and various financial reports. The Controller provides accurate and timely financial
information to the CEO for decision-making purposes. The Controller also serves
as a liaison between staff and management and outside parties and management.

Essential Functions
- Meet
with CEO or Management to provide financial reports and advice on financial
matters.
- Oversees
the overall operations of unit(s) reporting to this position.
- Establish
and maintain good banking relations, and arrange and monitor lines of credit
weekly.
- Meet
with company accountants and attorneys on an as-needed basis, and advise the
CEO of relative legal and financial matters.
- Supervise
all accounting and finance personnel and review accounting reports as
needed.
- Develop
and manage annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost
and productivity analyses.
- Approve
and sign checks, as needed.
- Prepare
annual budgets, monthly cash flow analyses, and monthly and annual
projections of jobs in progress and cash flow.
- Prepare
monthly financial statements.
- Handle
daily accounting mail, including notices and disbursements.
- Prepare
special reports on an as needed basis.
- Maintain
current knowledge of and implements changes based on Company policies and
procedures.
- Monitor
medical insurance and 401 (k) plans.
- Establish,
review, and maintain system of internal controls.
- Designs,
establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to
effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives; recruits,
employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff.
- Establishes
and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives,
policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational
effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.

Essential Job Qualifications
The controller is responsible for ensuring effective
financial and budgetary controls throughout the Company.
He/She will need a strong accounting background, a broad range of
business knowledge and an understanding of the Company’s business.
He/She must have an aptitude for systems and strong management,
leadership and communication skills. The qualified candidate should be a
reliable, hard-working individual who is capable of supervising all aspects of
the Company’s accounting, treasury, payables and credit functions.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree and at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the
duties and responsibilities specified are required.
- Knowledge
of federal and state financial
regulations, and Company’s financial policies and procedures.
- Ability
to develop financial plans and manage resources.
- Skilled
in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Skill
in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating
policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Knowledge
of software to quantify and illustrate complex financial reports,
comparisons, impacts, and/or projections.
- Ability
to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports,
statements and/or projections.
- Organizing
and coordinating skills.
- Knowledge
of current changes and/or developments in federal, state, local accounting
laws, and Company policies and procedures.
- Ability
to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability
to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and
scheduling work assignments.
